Raul Kusak is a pianist/organist and keyboarder, composer, musical producer, arranger and performer/session musician for a myriad of projects such as Nicu Alifantis, Tudor Chirilă/Vama, Ștefan Bănică, Alina Manole, The Voice (Romania), as well as personal jazz/blues projects in collaboration with musicians like Vali SirBlues Răcilă, Hanno Hoefer, Liviu Pop, AG Weinberger, Rareș Totu, Vlaicu Golcea.
He has his own solo piano project – ”Scenes from Memory” which he has been performing for three years at the Gărâna International Jazz Festival (2016/2017/2018).
He held workshops for Korg-MC Musical Instruments at the ”Ideo Ideis” and ”Relief” (2016-2017) theatre festivals and at some of the most important international blues festivals from the country.
Alongside Electric Brother, he attended the Red Bull Music Academy 2014 inside an event held at the Anglican Church from Bucharest.
He is the co-author of the ”Charlie Countryman” soundtrack, a 2013 production directed by Fredrik Bond with Shia LaBoeuf, Evan Rachel Wood, Mads Mikkelsen, and in 2006, together with the ”Aievea” band, he co-writes the soundtrack for ”Love Sick” / ”Legături Bolnăvicioase”, directed by Tudor Giurgiu.
He signs off and performs live the theatre music from ”Omul cel bun din Seciuan” (2014) / ” The Good Person of Szechwan” – Bertolt Brecht, ”Carousel/Lilion” (2015) – after Molnar Ferenc and Fritz Lang’s film at the Bulandra Theatre and ”Mult zgomot pentru nimic” / ”Much ado about nothing” (2018) – William Shakespeare at the Comedy Theatre, all of them directed by Andrei Șerban.
Also in 2018, he signs off the music for the ”Dragostea celor trei portocale” / ”The Love for Three Oranges” – Carlo Gozzi (commedia dell’arte), directed by Michele Modesto Casarin and ”Femeia, eterna poveste” / ”Woman, the eternal question” by Ema Stere, directed by Attila Vizauer, both held at the Stela Popescu theatre.
He is currently working together with Andrei Șerban at the ”Richard al III-lea” / ”Richard the 3rd” theatre show by William Shakespeare, and it will premiere at the beginning of March at the Bulandra Theatre.
