Horea Pascu is the founder of Blue Island Music, one of the most active music publishing companies in the Romanian sync market, supervising the music in hundreds of TV adverts every year, as well as providing music for various TV shows and feature films. Besides sub-publishing over 50 production music libraries, Blue Island Music also administers in Romania David Guetta’s publishing catalogue as well as dozens of hit songs performed by artists such as Dean Martin, Rihanna, Katy Perry, John Legend, Childish Gambino, and many others.
Horea has been in the music business for 20 years, starting out as a composer before turning to music publishing. Being very involved into the international music industry, he was elected in 2018 as a member of the board in the Production Music Committee within ICMP (The International Confederations of Music Publishers), a committee which supports the work of production music publishers and composers, aiming to find solutions to the challenges which the production music community faces due to the constant transformations that take place with the digitization and the globalisation of the industry.
Horea is not only passionate about music, but also about the quite complex world of music publishing and its whole global ecosystem and he’s happy to share the information with musicians and other people in the music business.
